The &UP® platform for logistics and transport, hosted in a stable and flexible private cloud by MAIN Data Center
By providing bespoke IT solutions for distribution, logistics and transport, Omecon ensures a high level of security, scalability and flexibility. The scalability of the software ensures support for operational processes of varying scales, whilst its flexibility enables it to be used in the context of diverse, business-critical processes requiring the processing of large volumes of data in near real time. Consequently, we are constantly developing and refining the infrastructure on which our services are based, including the &UP® Platform – a comprehensive solution supporting operational processes.
“We also provide the systems we offer our clients via the SaaS model,
which necessitates a stable, easy-to-manage IT infrastructure. Omecon was looking for a highly reliable solution that would, at the same time, allow us to maintain configuration flexibility and easily create bespoke systems for our clients.”
Bartłomiej Raczyński, Managing Director at Omecon
Choosing the solution and provider
After analysing the available solutions, Omecon decided to host its production environment on the Dedicated Private Cloud service offered by MAIN. In addition, the environment has been enhanced with an advanced Disaster Recovery solution, enabling a high level of business continuity to be maintained.
The company’s technology partner
MAIN is a Polish company specialising in the development of cloud environments that ensure business continuity. It bases its services on a network of its own data centres, which are ISO-certified and guarantee redundancy at all levels (power supply, network, hardware, software and staff).
MAIN supports organisations in overcoming the barriers they encounter in relation to data processing, such as low performance or high infrastructure costs. The company’s core offering includes Private and Hybrid Cloud solutions, complemented by containerisation and Disaster Recovery, as well as services covering all levels of administration for physical and virtual environments.
Implemented environment
“The dedicated environment comprises two mirrored, high-performance sites ensuring High Availability (HA). They are fully redundant, resilient to single points of failure, and connected via LAN and FC.”
Łukasz Studziński, Systems Engineer at MAIN
The primary site is located at MAIN’s main data centre in Warsaw, whilst the backup site is at Equinix IBX® WA3, also in Warsaw. Replication between sites and data encryption take place at the storage array level. The mechanism for switching between sites is based on VMware Site Recovery Manager.

Furthermore, the entire environment is monitored, and a custom-developed notification system enables the prevention of infrastructure failures and the implementation of preventative measures. Further information on the environment itself and its management can be found in an article available in the MAIN Expert Zone.
“The new environment simplifies management and ensures a high level of security for the data being processed. The solution we have developed with the MAIN team offers significant potential for rapidly scaling the solutions we prepare for specific installations of our &UP® system.
Every &UP® installation is different; every client has different requirements and needs –
not only in terms of functionality, but also regarding compliance with high security standards and IT infrastructure configuration. When selling the &UP® system under a SaaS model – where, for example, we integrate it with the client’s existing systems – appropriate customisation of the IT environment is vital and absolutely essential.
MAIN provides us with extensive configuration options for network infrastructure, flexibility in creating backup policies, and secure methods of connecting to the system. Our colleagues from the MAIN team support us in developing the best infrastructure solutions for our clients, based on the environment they have set up for us.”
