Benefits

Benefits of implementing the Control Centre

No queues at the loading bays

Online notifications and the docking schedule eliminate unnecessary waiting times for vehicles.

Unattended access control

The LPR takes over security duties during routine operations.

Comprehensive traffic records

Every vehicle is registered with a photograph, weight and service time.

Site security

Identity checks, sobriety tests and health and safety briefings before entry.

Integration

A single environment for all traffic on the square

Yard Management is a layer that links the physical infrastructure with IT systems.

This ensures that the dispatcher, security staff, freight forwarder and warehouse staff all have a shared view of the situation.

The process

How does it work?

See what the workflow looks like.

  • 1

The logistics department finalises the transport details; the freight forwarder accepts the request and clarifies the details.

  • 2

A vehicle at the holding area signals that it is ready to enter – the LPR identifies it automatically.

  • 3

The system identifies the gate and the ramp, and records the time of each loading or unloading operation.

  • 4

Once the service is complete, the vehicle leaves the premises and the entry, weight and service data are fed into the reporting and analytics system.
