OMECON - IT solutions for transport and logistics - The mobile app for containerization

The mobile app for containerization

After years of working on desktop applications and with radio scanners, DPD Poland decided to abandon its existing solution and replace it with mobile devices to improve the mobility of the system. The new approach was also intended to support the new line haul numbering introduced for other newly deployed systems.

Business challenges:

Integrate with the logic provided by other suppliers, resolve problems arising from the branch infrastructure, achieve uninterrupted user interaction in the warehouse environment (adjust messages and sounds to the noise level in the warehouse)

Implementation results:

  • Improved mobility aspect of the solution
  • Increased the range of operations (covered places not yet accessible to desktop stations)
  • Improved availability of information through on-line communication
  • Better ergonomics through the use of wearable terminals
  • More efficient package sorting process
